Our Constitutional Mandate
The Office of the Auditor-General for Yobe State is established by Section 125 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended). Our mandate includes:
- Audit the public accounts of Yobe State and all offices, courts and authorities of the State Government
- Audit the accounts of all persons and bodies established by law and entrusted with the collection and administration of public funds
- Submit audit reports to the Yobe State House of Assembly
- Conduct periodic checks of all government statutory corporations, commissions, and other bodies
- Perform value-for-money audits to ensure economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the use of public funds
- Conduct investigations into any matter related to the receipt, disbursement and utilization of public funds
